The BOB Sport Utility
The BOB Sport Utility is the best stroller for parents who want to get off the beaten path and get some exercise. This jogging stroller features pneumatic knobby tires that are great for running trails and a hand brake that lets you control the downhills. It also has a state-of the-art suspension system, two-step folding, and a huge cargo basket. If you purchase the right adapters, you can use it with an infant car seat.
The biggest drawback to this stroller for jogging is its weight and folded size. It weighs 25 lbs and folds down to 17,850 cubic inches, which is around average for this category of strollers. Its size makes it unsuitable for tight turns or narrow trunk spaces, although it does have a small handle near the back of the basket that can be pulled to fold it into the most compact, flat position.
This stroller is easy to maneuver, despite its size. The front wheel features an locking mechanism that lets you switch it from normal to locked jogging mode. The handlebar is adjustable in height to accommodate different heights of parents. It comes with a spacious seat that can be retracted to almost flat, as well as a large vinyl peekaboo window.
The Sport Utility also scored a 9 out of 10 for its exceptional quality. It is built with a strong aluminum frame with tight connections and no rough edges or poor stitching. It also has adjustable dampers, which aid in smooth rolling performance.
As with the other BOB strollers we've reviewed the Sport Utility has optional car seat adapters that let you use it with a variety of infant car seats. It took us 5 hours and 24 minutes in our tests to put together the stroller, from unpacking it until it was ready to go. The assembly was easy however, you'll need a Philips screwdriver. The manual included is well-organized and easy to follow, however it's a good idea just to have one in case.
The Baby Trend Expedition
This jogger has been designed with safety, style and user-friendliness as its main priorities. It comes with a tray for parents that has two cup holders as well as covered storage, and the child tray which swings away and has two cup holders. The adjustable canopy with a peek-aboo window and the extra-wide ergonomically designed handle provide comfort for both parents. The front wheel lockable can be removed when strolling and locked for jogging. The large storage basket can accommodate essential travel necessities.
Consumer Reports' Strollers test program indicates that the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger is a good value for its price and scores higher than its competition across a variety of categories. This includes the ease of using the 5-point harness that folds and unfolds, adjusting the backrest, activating the brakes on the wheel and infant car seat removal and installation (only for compatible models). It has a simple design and a one-handed recline that is deep enough for napping. The canopy cover that has the ratcheting mechanism can be difficult. It also takes almost 8 minutes to put it up, and the instructions are confusing due to multiple languages mashed together and hard-to-understand illustrations.
The only negative about this jogger is that it does not have suspension, which means the ride could be more bumpy than the other strollers that we've tested. This might cause discomfort for young kids, especially if they are on the edge of taking having a nap. It does have tires that are filled with air but they don't have as much shock absorption as the rubber wheels found on more expensive strollers.
This is an excellent option for those who don't exercise frequently but want to be able to easily move across grass or gravel without worrying about obstacles like curbs or other obstructions. It's also a great option for families with a limited space as it folds down into a compact unit. It's lighter than many of the other joggers that we've tested, and will be tucked away in places that full-size strollers cannot.
Another benefit is that it is more easy to carry and lift than the heavier joggers we've tried. This is crucial when you have to lift it in and out of your trunk frequently or if you are always on the move.
The Nipper Sport V4
Nipper Sport V4 is the most efficient jogger for all terrains. This new version of Out 'n' About's three-wheeled running stroller has been specifically designed for jogging. It comes with large pneumatic alloy tyres with a 16-inch diameter that can withstand the most difficult tracks and paths. The Nipper is also light and compact, making it easy to fold and transport.
This pushchair has a number of characteristics that make it perfect for tackling all types of terrain with front suspension as well as a handlebar brake. It also comes with a multi-position recline seat and removable quilted seat liner as well as the five-point safety harness and a hinged bumper bar. It's also travel system-compatible that allows you to use it with a Cybex, Maxi-Cosi, or Be-Safe infant car seats.
Another great feature of this buggy is its large front wheel, which helps to ensure an easy ride for your child. This is essential, especially when you're tackling challenging terrain. It allows the buggy to track better and glide better over dips and bumps. Nipper Sport is easy to drive and comes with a single pedal brake. The Nipper Sport is designed for children aged between six and eight months. It can also be used with a baby thanks to the built-in insert. However, it is not recommended for use with babies younger than six months, because the harness of the seat isn't tight enough to safely keep them.
The pushchair doesn't have a storage basket underneath the seat. The small shopping bag at the rear of the seat is not large enough to hold a large changing pouch. It is very easy to open and close. Only two hand-holds are required to open the plastic catch that is located on either side of the lower frame. There is also a secondary lock catch on the red handlebar which can be opened by one hand, making it incredibly easy to use.
